I actually wasn’t planning on posting at all this month because I’ve been really sick and tired and come to find out it’s because I’m severely Anemic. It’s to the point where my doctor says that I have basically no iron in my body at all…yeah.  I’ve got other serious things going on too and until my health is up to par and everything cools down, I won’t  be making many post. So with this post I bring a sort of retro (or what I think is retro) hairstyle. I did this early in the morning on an old twist out and it was a pain in the ass to do but I loved the outcome of it! I did a roll at the bottom, pinned on both sides and pinned through the bottom, another roll the same way, then a small bun at the top pinned and with a flower added to the side and VIOLA! Did not turn out at all like the way I imagined but I still liked it.

Believe it or not, this blog is mainly supposed to be about hair. Have you seen many hair post so far? No, which I am apologizing for but it will be made up with this one. This is my standard two-strand twist done on super thick 4b hair. When I say super thick, I mean if I were to blow dry my hair after I wash it I swear to you, I look just like Mufasa off of the Lion King. Seriously.

Anyway, this is what I have been doing to my hair as of lately or for the past 6-8 months because it’s been working for me:

Wash each week or every other week: Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Shampoo

Condition: Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Conditioner

Products for twist: A little of the Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque (because my hair loves it!) and a little of the Kimmaytube leave-in mix.

I’m really trying to find a good deep treatment conditioner that will really get into my hair and leave it silky and super easy to comb through (remember thick hair 🙂 ) and I’m definitely trying to invest in the Huetiful Hair Steamer because I think it’s going to make a HUGE difference for my hair.

I’m going to do a Nail of The Week series because I’m a  makeup junkie that has recently turned into a nail polish fiend also ;). This weeks nail color is oke.doke. Pink This. It’s a really pretty glittery, shear pink. The glitters are fine though so they give more of a shine in the color. I’ve tried two of the oke.doke colors and I like the formula. It’s definitely not thick, but it’s not watery either. Understand? Me neither.

Steal This Teal was opaque with two coats while Pink This had to use 3 coats of polish. The pictures below are post polish and excuse my cuticles. I’m a reformed nail biter.

I bought this jewelry from a store that was moving and they were having a sale and some of their stuff was 60% off so I picked up a few things.

*All three together without flash*

How cute! All three were 60% off and the total came up to a little over $12 dollars. How awesome was that?!

*Ahem* I kinda hauled polish again. I didn’t mean to but I had to make up for not being able to get a hold of OPI’s Black Shatter at my local Ulta :(.  Anyway, at Ulta I grabbed four more of the small essence polishes.

Lime up – Underwater – Space Queen – Sundancer

Then I headed to CVS since everyone keeps talking about the 50-75% off beauty sale and picked up a couple of nail instruments and a Wet n’ Wild polish that I saw on somebody’s blog (don’t remember who and it’s irking the crap out of me) by the name of Party of Five, which is a glitter. The cuticle trimmer was $1.99 from $7.99, the tweezers were $1.49 from $5.99, and the polish was $1.99.

Last stop was Rite Aid where I picked up all of the Hedy’s oke.doke nail polishes. There were 6 total and they were priced at $1.99.

Purple Nurple – Hot Tomato – Goldilocks – Steal This Teal – Camo Loco – Pink This

It’s dreary and dark once again here where I live which makes me not want to do swatches since you might not see the true color. I really want to too since I think a lot of these colors are awesome. *sigh* I think I might do them anyway.

*So, went to open Steal This Teal and the top came right off, lol. Tried all of them and they all do it.*

I’m apologizing for my nails in advance. I forgot what day it was and had to hurry and get dressed for church. There was no time to clean them up. It won’t happen again 🙂  I took advantage of the very sunny day we have today (since it didn’t last long)  and swatched the four Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear nail polishes that I picked up last week on individual fingers.

Index: Posh Plum

Middle: Grey Area

Ring: Mint Sorbet

Little: Lacey Lilac

Topcoat: Seche Vite

*A couple more pictures*

I love the application of Posh Plum and Grey Area but Mint Sorbet and Lacey Lilac are really streaky *ugh*. Why is it that the really pretty pastel colors are streaky? Anyway I’m in love with these colors and I’m definitely going to have to pick up more. These were all with just 2 coats.

This past Saturday I went to Ulta to use my $3.50 off of a $10 purchase on China Glaze nail polish and a bottle of Seche Vite topcoat ( you can never have too many of them ) and they’re both on sale for $4.99 but they were cleaned out! *ugh* So I stumbled through the store just looking when the Essence display caught my eye. I bought a nail polish a while ago from their latest Denim Wanted collection and bought the rest of the collection because I fell in love with the colors instantly. Even better? Those polishes were $1.99! I picked up some of their regular stock bottles which are much smaller but they’re $1 so I can’t complain. I really like the wear of Essence polishes. They’re opaque and I haven’t experienced any streakiness so far which is a combo that equals love for me 🙂

That first color, The greige color? I have been wearing to death and I’ll probably be done with it early next month.

Then, I stopped by Walgreens since they had Wet n’ Wild cosmetics half off to get more of the Mega Last Lipsticks ( I am in love with them! ) but something else caught my eye. Sally Hansen’s new collection is out and I picked up 4 of the 5 colors that were displayed since the sign said they were 2.99. I get to the register and the cashier starts to ring them up and tells me that Sally Hansen was on sale B1G1 half off so I thought that’s even better. Then she tells me that she’s got coupons for me also and scanned those for me. She totally made my day with that! I present everything that I hauled in Walgreens.

The color Grey Area? Been wearing that one out too. Got that one on today.

I haven’t been able to do any polish or cosmetic swatches because it’s been so dark and dreary here where I live. When the light outside gets better, I’ll provide swatches 😉

I bought some new shoes at Avenue and I haven’t had the chance to wear them yet since it’s been snowing like crazy here all of a sudden but I just wanted to share. They were on sale, so of course, I had to pick them up, since I needed a pair of boots anyway. I went to two different stores and they both barely had any shoes since they have a clearance sale to get rid of all their winter stuff.

These boots were half off so I paid $19 and some change for them

And these I HAD to get. I thought they were super cute! These were only $14.96.

I’m going to have to put some gel pads in the front of the boots to make them more comfy and so far the brown shoes seem OK comfort wise. I can’t wait for the snow to slow down so that I can pair them with cute outfits to wear out.
